Exchange Reciprocal Links a Better Way

I believe the solution may be to have an article page on another site that only has links to your site.

The advantages

I believe this solution has the following advantages:

• All the PageRank of an article page is sent to your site. You don't share it with links to other sites.
  
  
• An article page is relevant because it has the same theme as the external links to your site and sits on a site with the same theme.
  
  
• An article page is content rich, which is exactly what search engines like.
  
  
• The links on an article page will be seen as more natural than links on a page of reciprocal links.

The method

Provided that your site has the theme of jobs, employment or careers, I propose that you create an article page of a few hundred words that has the following attributes:

• The article page uses your most important keyword phrase as the title.
  
  
• The article page uses the same keyword phrase as the head line set between Headline 1 html tags (<H1> and </H1>).
  
  
• The article contains all your important keyword phrases as links to either your home page or to specific pages on your site.
  
  
• The keywords Meta tag contains the same keyword phrases as used in your article.

You then send me the HTML page containing your article and I place it on my site as follows:

• Your article page will be placed on my web site in a directory called "Industry Articles".
  
  
• A link to your article page will be placed on my sitemap.html page using your article page title as the link text.
  
  
• I undertake to ensure that my sitemap will always be one click away from my home page so your article page will always be just two clicks away from my home page.
  
  
• Your article page will also be added to my Google Sitemap.

In return I will expect you to reciprocate by doing the same for me:

• You will place my article page* on your web site in a directory called "Industry Articles".
  
  
• A link to my article page will be placed on your sitemap.html page using my page title as the link text.
  
  
• You undertake to ensure that your sitemap** page will always be one click away from your home page so my article page will always be just two clicks away from your home page.
  
  
• You will add my article page to your Google Sitemap*** if you have one.

* Here is an example of my article page but, if you decide to proceed, I will provide a unique one for your site because some search engines penalise pages that contain the same text.

** If you do not maintain a sitemap.html page, it may be substituted by an alternative page such as your link directory page provided that a link to this page is always present on your home page.
